CV Writing Service

Will my new CV get me a job offer or an interview?

We cannot guarantee that you will secure an interview or a job offer after using our services. We will ensure your CV is optimised and tailored to your desired industry and career goals, however, the job application process is dependent on a variety of factors and CVs are only one competent of this process.

I have never written a CV, is that a problem? Can I still order from you?

That’s fine, CVs are a tricky thing to write. If you don’t have a document you can send us, let us know and we will send you an amended intake form for you to fill in so we have the information we need to complete your order.

I have ordered from CMC in the past and I have gained more experience that I would like added to my CV. How much would these amendments cost?

Thank you for using Cover My CV in the past. We really value our clients and are keen to provide support throughout your career journey.

If you would like your document/s to be edited to incorporate new experiences that you have attained, a small fee will be required to complete these edits for you.

You can find this service on our website under “CV Edits for Returning Customers”. The fee for this service ranges from £15 for minor edits to £30 for extensive edits. If you require your CV to be amended for a new industry/new role, the price for this service increases to £50, however, we are happy to offer a loyalty discount of 15% for returning customers.

Once you place an order for this service, you will receive an intake form requesting the document/s you would like edited and details of the edits you would like to be made and/or the new information that you want to be included.

There is a job I want to apply for, but the deadline is this week. Is there a fast-track service option?

Depending on the level of demand for our services, we are able to offer an expedient service where we produce the required document/s within 1 to 3 working days. If you require this service, please contact covermycv@gmail.com with a link to the job you would like to apply for and details of the deadline alongside what document/s you would like us to produce for you. Please use the words “Fast-track Service Request” in the email subject heading so we can address your query asap.

We will review your request and let you know if we can produce the document/s in time for the application deadline and provide you with a quote for this service. This service usually requires an additional expedient service fee of £30. If you are happy with the quote we provide, we will send you an invoice and once this is paid we will start to process your order.

If we are suddenly unable to produce your document/s in time for the deadline due to unforeseen circumstances e.g. staff illness, we will issue you a refund for the expedient service fee.

What happens if I want amendments to my CV? How does this process work?

Once you have received the first draft of your document/s, you can request edits and amendments and we will process these for you asap.

If you require edits/amendments to your CV after you have used our services as you have gained more experience you would like to add, we can process this request for you also. You can find this service on our website under “CV Edits for Returning Customers”. The fee for this service ranges from £15 for minor edits to £30 for extensive edits.

How long should a CV be?

We recommend that CVs should be 1-2 pages long. The length of a CV will depend on your experience and industry. We will tailor the length of your CV to suit the roles you are applying for and the level of experience you have acquired.

Your documents will be sent to you as a Word Doc. If you require another format, please email covermycv@gmail.com and quote your order reference number in your enquiry.

How do you assign my writer?

We select writers for clients based on the information we receive via the Intake Information Request Form you complete after you order from us. For example, if you are interested in a particular industry, we will select a writer who has experience in this industry and/or experience producing CVs and other career documents for this industry.

Can you produce documents for clients based outside of the UK?

Yes, we have experience producing documents for clients from the USA. However, we cannot create documents for EU residents.

Please note that we are only able to produce documents in English for our clients.

Once you place an order, you will receive an Information Request Intake Form. When completing this form, please stipulate whether you require the documents to apply for jobs in a country outside the UK. Please note what country you are looking to apply for jobs in so we can tailor your documents accordingly.

How do I pay?

After adding a service to your cart, you can go to the checkout and purchase this service via Stripe with a credit card. If you have a gift card, you can use this at the checkout as well.

We also accept international bank transfers. If you require this option, please email us at covermycv@gmail.com with the words “International Bank Transfer” in the subject heading.

How long do orders take to process?

We usually aim to process single CV orders within 5 – 7 working days after we have received the requested information from you. However, orders which contain multiple documents such as the bundle services can take up to 14 working days to process. If you have not received an update on the progress of your order within 14 working days, please contact customer support quoting your order number at admin@covermycv.com.

If you require an expedited service or you’re working with a tight deadline please let us know via email before you place an order with us.

How do I go ahead with one of the services listed?

To go ahead with a service, select the service from our product offerings and add it to your cart. Then go to the checkout and enter your payment details. Once payment has been processed via our website, you will be sent an Intake Information Request Form for you to complete in your own time. Once you have completed this form, we will have the information we require to process your order and complete your new documents.

Once I place an order, how does the process work?

Once you place an order, you will be prompted to complete an intake form where we will request information from you so we can complete your order. In this form, you will have the opportunity to upload a copy of your current CV and tell us more about yourself. These include details such as your career goals, skills/specialisms, achievements and voluntary experience.

When we have received your completed intake form, we will assign your order to a professional writer who will produce your new document/s. If we require any additional information from you at this stage, we will send you an email.

Within 3 – 5 working days (depending on the type of service you have ordered), the first draft of your CV/cover letter/LinkedIn profile will be completed and sent to you for review. Do you offer a personal statement service for job applications?

Yes, you can order a personal statement for a job application from us. You can place an order for our Personal Statement service and specify in the intake form the job application you would like the personal statement to be written for.

Do you offer a job application service? How can I order this?

Yes, we do provide services related to job application questions. If you view the drop-down bar on our service offerings, you will find an option titled “Job Applications”.

Job Applications are priced depending on the word count you require to complete all the questions included in the application process. Please ensure you have this information so you can order the correct service.

What file format will my documents be sent to me in?

Gifting

Can I gift your services to someone I know?

Yes, you can. If you want to purchase our services as a gift, you can buy a gift card and this can be sent via email to your recipient. Just select the amount for a gift card that corresponds to the service you would like to gift and your recipient can redeem the gift card on our website. Refunds

I used your services a few months ago but I still have not received a job/interview offer. Can I get a refund?

While we make every effort to produce competitive CVs and cover letters, we cannot guarantee that you will receive interviews or job offers. A good CV, while a useful tool, is not a silver bullet in the competitive job market. There are many factors outside of CVs and cover letters that determine whether a candidate progresses during the recruitment stages including competition, discrimination and the current job market.

We want to ensure all our clients are happy with the service they receive so if you find yourself in a position where you have your CV revamped by us and you are not seeing results, please get in touch with us. We are happy to offer you a phone consultation to discuss your progress in terms of job applications, and to see if we can offer you any additional support.

Career Coaching

How does the career coaching service work?

The career coaching is run by our highly-qualified in-house careers advisor who has specialist knowledge across a range of industries. To access this service, click the “Careers Advice” option from the drop-down bar on our services tab. You can choose between four service offerings depending on what service you require: Career Consultation, Interview Prep and Coaching, Freelance and Business Development and CV Appraisal.

Once you have picked an option that suits your needs, you can click the “Book” button and you will be prompted to choose a date and time that will work for you to hold the 1-1 coaching session. After this, you will be required to fill in your details and provide us with some information such as your CV so we can understand your work experience and current career goals. Then all you need to do is confirm your booking and you will be prompted to enter your payment details to secure your 1-1 appointment.
